Story Time

Once upon a time there was a boy and a girl, (middle school crush) they had feelings for each other.  But it felt weird because neither of them had crushes that felt the same way.  They decided to chance it on their feelings.

A year passes and they’re now in high school; the boy realizes that he loves this girl and can’t imagine life without her in it.  He tells her and she reciprocates her feelings, the love beings to blossom.

Years pass by and their love stays strong, their love grows strong.  The girl turns into a beautiful, jaw-dropping young lady and the boy turns into a strapping young man.  They turn to each other for moral support and for any help that one needs; a self-supported system.  They laugh at other couple’s fighting, breaking up, getting back together.  There was no such love as their love, no such feeling as what they felt.

Then things happened, he felt closer, she felt risqué.  She took a chance and hurt him.  She did repent; he couldn’t live without her so he overlooked it for his feelings towards her.  They grew even stronger.

High school was coming to an end and the teenagers now looked more like adults.  Her beauty drew jealous looks from some, envious looks from others.  His attributes gained him compliments and got him to where he wanted to be.  He hoped and prayed that their love was as strong as he thought.

High school finished but their love went on, something wonderful happened too.  His beautiful girl was finally able to move out of the ghetto of their city, move into a magnificent two-story house with a spacious backyard and a two-car garage – far, far away.  He was worried, but he was happy for her and her mother as well.  His princess got the castle she deserved.

College started and they visited whenever they could, talked every day no matter the means.  He bragged about his beauty queen and the feelings that they shared.  He even went over a few times without their parents knowing, all in the name of love.

Then something happened.

Her texts slowed down.  He grew lonely, he grew sad, he grew cold.

An early-morning call and an early-morning text put their love on hiatus. One day later, 5 years of togetherness was ended in 160 characters or less.

His foundation crumbled and so did his beliefs.  The world fell apart and darkness engulfed him, darkness like no other.  Nothing made sense.

But he found someone to guide him through his dark time.  A stunning, older woman, with a strikingly beautiful personality, she took his hand and showed him where to go.  In return, he showed her what a loving relationship was.

It was a great year for both of them.

But something happened and they fell apart.  Only to get back together and fall apart again.  He couldn’t do this to her, he couldn’t ruin love for her.  So he decided he had to leave.

He didn’t know who he truly was because ‘he’ was always ‘they’.  He struggled to find himself and who he really is.

Or at least who he was.
