1. This is what a man is supposed to be at all times and it has become something that people rarely see nowadays. Pulling out chairs and showing you care is great and all, but the key is doing it without anything in return. I like to think that I'm making my way to become this kind of man. However, the drawback is that you're not allowed to show interest towards women, only respect, let's look at the other rules once interest has been shown.
2. The girl has declined your advance to become more than friends, but you instead of walking away and moving onto the next one, you know what you want and you pursue -- this is how those romantic comedies or love stories start The exception now is that if the girl doesn't want what you're offering, you're a creeper. There's nothing to talk about, quit stalking her and move on.
3. Whoa whoa whoa, now that you've moved onto another girl that kind of sparkles compared to your first interest, you're now a womanizer. Congratulations. By accepting the fact that your major interest doesn't want you and you decide to swallow your pride and accept the consolation, your seen as a player.

The only way to be consistently seen as a gentleman is if the girl accepts your offer off the bat, so when interest was shown, it was mutual. As soon as you show interest in one girl, you lose your status as a gentleman. There are no exceptions, you get one shot -- make it a wise one.
